Behind the scenes: How we keep Wimbledon tournament-ready
As Wimbledon takes centre court on the global stage, we make sure the people working behind the scenes are covered from every angle when it comes to safety.

Since 2019, Arco Professional Safety Services has delivered fall protection services and working at height training for The Championships at Wimbledon (arguably the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament), helping protect maintenance and cleaning teams, camera and lighting crews, and others operating in areas where falls are a risk.
Over the past five years, Arco’s working at height specialists have played a key role in installing, testing and recertifying critical fall protection systems across the All England Club, including Centre Court and Courts 1 and 2.
Ahead of this year’s tournament, Arco carried out a thorough check of around a dozen fall protection assets, ensuring every system was ready to serve when needed. These included RoofSafe and 3M horizontal lifeline systems, Soll Pivitloc ladder systems, fall arrest anchor points, fixed ladders and self-retracting lifeline fall arrest blocks.
Arco’s expert trainers have also delivered rooftop safety and rescue from height training, giving the Wimbledon team the skills and confidence to access court roofs safely for lighting, banners and other equipment. Staff complete rescue from height refresher training every year, with rooftop safety renewed every three years.
Delivering the highest of standards

"By testing and certifying the fall protection systems and providing essential work at height training, Arco plays an important role in the smooth and safe operation of the Wimbledon championships.
