The SPA Petrol Retail Safety Passport Refresher course enables delegates to refresh and update their knowledge of health and safety requirements within petrol retail environments. Designed for individuals who already hold an SPA Petrol Retail Safety Passport, the course reinforces key safety principles, reviews industry developments and promotes continued safe working practices when carrying out work on petrol filling stations and associated retail sites.
• Health and Safety Responsibilities Refresher
Reviewing the responsibilities of employers, employees, contractors and site personnel in maintaining a safe working environment.
• Updates to Legislation and Industry Guidance
Understanding any significant changes to relevant legislation, industry standards and best practice affecting petrol retail operations.
• Site Hazards and Risk Awareness
Refreshing knowledge of the hazards commonly encountered on petrol filling stations and the controls used to reduce associated risks.
• Fuel Safety and Hazardous Substances
Revisiting the risks associated with petrol, diesel and other hazardous substances, including appropriate precautions and control measures.
• Fire and Explosion Prevention
Understanding the conditions that can lead to fire or explosion incidents and the measures required to minimise risk.
• Safe Systems of Work and Permit Procedures
Reviewing the importance of following site rules, permit-to-work systems and approved procedures when carrying out work activities.
