  • Course Aim:


    The course is aimed at personnel who will be issuing PTW for work in confined spaces. It will increase the awareness on the issuing of permits to work to control entry into confined spaces, including who is responsible and that a suitable and sufficient risk assessment is carried out. The PTW Issuers role extends to interpretation, supervision, coordination and accountability for the team and the work being undertaken in the confined space during both planned work and emergency situations.

Learning Outcomes:

• Being able to authorise working in confined spaces 

• Produce Risk Assessment and completion of Permit to Work

• Understand responsibility to monitor work team to ensure procedures are followed

• Demonstrate appropriate behaviour for issuing PTW for working in confined spaces

• Understand legislation governing working in confined spaces and PTW

• Be aware of appropriate industry specific standards and procedures for working in confined spaces
