Full Breathing Apparatus Training
SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) is utilised where an atmosphere is identified that could cause immediate danger to life and health (IDLH). Where a risk assessment has identified a requirement for SCBA certain bench marks must be met before its use.
Users should be fit and healthy with no underlying health issues that could be aggravated by its use.
All users must be trained, they must be deemed competent in its use and faces must be clean shaven in order to form an effective seal with the equipment.To see our course details click here
Equipment must be serviceable and be within life span.
If being used in confined spaces, correct entry procedures must be followed. Standby personnel must know how to correctly calculate cylinder durations and be aware of cylinder safety limits, they must also have an effective communications plan.
If SCBA is not used regularly consideration should be given to regular refreshers on the equipment and how to calculate cylinder durations.
