Course Aim:
To provide delegates with knowledge and practical experience to enable them to work and rescue at height on wind turbines in line with Renewable UK and GWO recommended working practices.
Further Information:
This course is RUK and GWO approved.
• Describe the main dangers of working height.
• Carryout a risk assessment of work at height issues (includes
requirements for rescue).
• Describe the main legislation that governs work at height.
• Demonstrate the ability to select and use a range of personal protective equipment for work at height.
• Correct fitting of harness.
• Describe and demonstrate the correct method of inspection, storing and maintaining personal protective equipment.
• Climb and work at height using lanyards and associated safety equipment.
• General requirements for rescue.
• Suspension trauma & emergency procedures.
• Introduction to the rescue equipment.
• Equipment inspection and care.
• Evacuation techniques.
• Ladder rescue.
• Rescue & evacuation from the motor room.
Pre course requirements: Delegates must have an in date climbing medical or must undertake self certification on the day
