Water Jetting Tube and Pipe Training
Clean tubes and pipes safely using high-pressure and ultra-high-pressure water jetting equipment, in line with the Water Jetting Association (WJA) Blue Code of Practice. You'll learn to identify hazards, perform equipment checks, control reaction forces and work as part of a competent team — keeping yourself and your colleagues safe throughout.
• Introduction to tube and pipe cleaning
The principles, applications and operational purpose of water jetting for tube and pipe cleaning tasks.
• WJA Blue Code of Practice and legal requirements
Key WJA guidance, Health and Safety at Work Act responsibilities and industry best practice for tube and pipe cleaning operations.
• Tube bundles and cleaning systems
Understanding tube bundles, pipe systems and the operational challenges associated with cleaning these environments.
• Jetting machines and equipment operation
How water jetting machines are used safely for tube and pipe cleaning applications.
• Safe systems of work
The procedures and controls required to safely plan and execute tube and pipe cleaning operations.
• Pressurising systems safely
How to safely pressurise tubes and pipes while controlling associated operational hazards.
• Anti-ejection devices and safety controls
The purpose and correct use of anti-ejection devices to reduce operational risk.
• Nozzle selection and lance types
How to select appropriate nozzles and lances for specific tube and pipe cleaning applications.
• Foot control valves and automatic systems
Safe operation of foot control devices and automated systems used during cleaning operations.
• Team roles and operational competence
Competent team structures, responsibilities and safe coordination during tube and pipe cleaning tasks.
• Set-up procedures and poor practice awareness
How to prepare equipment correctly and recognise unsafe operational practices.
• Accident prevention and injury awareness
Common causes of injury and how incidents can be prevented through correct procedures and controls.
• Assessment
Theory-based classroom assessment and practical assessment using live water jetting equipment.
Classroom-based theory combined with practical, instructor-led assessment using live tube and pipe cleaning water jetting equipment. Training focuses on safe equipment operation, hazard awareness, pressure management and compliance with WJA Codes of Practice.
