
Offshore S-Cape User Training
Deploy and use offshore S-Cape evacuation equipment safely in an emergency, including controlled descents and water evacuation procedures. You'll gain hands-on experience with the system through low-level descents and environmental tank exercises, preparing you to respond quickly and correctly when it matters.
• Introduction to the S-Cape system
The design, purpose and offshore application of the S-Cape evacuation system, how it is deployed in an emergency and the responsibilities of platform personnel in ensuring they are prepared to use it correctly.
• Maintenance and servicing
The maintenance and servicing procedures required to keep S-Cape equipment in a safe and serviceable condition, including what checks must be carried out and when equipment must be referred for service.
• Demonstrations of use
Instructor-led demonstrations of correct S-Cape operation before delegates progress to supervised practical exercises.
• Practical low-level descents
How to carry out a controlled low-level descent using the S-Cape system correctly, practised in a classroom-based environment before progressing to water-based exercises.
• Evacuation procedures into water
How to carry out a controlled S-Cape evacuation into water, practised in an environmental tank under instructor supervision, including the precautions required during water entry.
• Painter line strop
How to use the painter line strop correctly during water evacuation procedures, practised in the environmental tank as part of the full offshore evacuation sequence.
• Assessment
Continuous assessment throughout the course, including oral and practical examinations.
Classroom-based theory combined with practical exercises in controlled low-level and environmental tank scenarios.
Platform-based personnel with access to offshore S-Cape equipment.
