
Onshore S-Cape User Training
Evacuate safely from the raised cab of mechanical handling equipment using the S-Cape system, including low- and high-level descents and emergency procedures. You'll gain hands-on experience with the equipment in realistic scenarios, preparing you to respond quickly and correctly in an emergency.
• Introduction to the S-Cape system
The design, purpose and application of the S-Cape evacuation system for mechanical handling equipment, including how it is deployed and the responsibilities of operators in ensuring it is ready for use.
• Maintenance and servicing
The maintenance and servicing procedures required to keep S-Cape equipment in a safe and serviceable condition, including the checks operators must carry out and when equipment must be referred for service.
• Demonstrations of use
Instructor-led demonstrations of correct S-Cape operation at both low and high levels before delegates progress to supervised practical exercises.
• Evacuation procedures
How to carry out a controlled evacuation from the raised cab of a man-riding mechanical handling vehicle using the S-Cape system, including low-level and high-level descent techniques practised in real-life scenarios.
• Assessment
Continuous written and practical assessment throughout the course, evaluated by the course instructor.
Course combining instructor demonstrations with supervised practical exercises at both low and high levels. Continuous assessment runs throughout.
Personnel who operate man-riding mechanical handling equipment and may need to perform emergency evacuations from raised cabs.
Delegates must be qualified drivers of man-riding mechanical handling equipment.
