Rescue from Height Training
When a colleague is suspended in a fall arrest system or collapsed on a protected platform, the ability to respond quickly and correctly is critical. This course gives experienced climbers the practical skills to rescue a co-worker from height using a range of rescue kits. Approved by LEEA, it is available for a range of rescue kit types - please specify preference at time of booking. On successful completion, delegates receive a certificate of competency.
• PPE inspection and fitting
How to carry out pre-use checks and correctly fit working at height PPE and the sealed rescue kit before use, including checking that all components are present and the kit has not been previously deployed.
• Rescue kit contents
The components of the rescue kit, what each is used for and how the system functions as a complete rescue solution for both lifting and lowering scenarios.
• Anchor point selection
How to identify and assess suitable anchor points for a rescue operation, including the load requirements of a two-person system and the additional considerations when working under time pressure.
• Casualty lifting
How to use the rescue kit to lift a suspended casualty correctly, including rigging the system, managing the load and maintaining control throughout the lift.
