Confined space contest attracts top talent
Testing skilled confined space rescue teams to the limit, find out who took top honours in our latest Arco Challenge Event (A.C.E).

In collaboration with R3 Safety & Rescue, our latest Arco Challenge Event (A.C.E.) has been a massive success and testament to the hard work and preparation that went into its planning.
A spirit of teamworking
On the day, four teams took part in a series of tough confined space challenges that tested their capabilities, teamwork and problem-solving. Each scenario was carefully designed to test and stretch a range of skill sets, and it was clear that participants not only applied their existing knowledge but also gained valuable new insights.
All teams responded enthusiastically to the scenarios, fully engaging with the challenges and demonstrating a strong commitment to learning and development.
Brian Grunes, Arco’s Confined Space Technical Lead, said: “It’s been fantastic to pull together so many talented rescue teams for the competition. Everyone’s worked cohesively, communicated effectively, and supported one another to complete the tasks.
“The spirit of teamwork was evident throughout the event, and my personal highlight is that A.C.E. has been such a rewarding experience for everyone involved.”

A winning mentality
At the awards ceremony at the end of the day, ISAR3 took away Best Incident Controller and Best Medic while R3 scooped the award for Best Overall Team. However, there were only 10 points separating the teams, highlighting a close contest between skilled rescue teams.

Special thanks
A special thanks to everyone who assisted before and during the event, and to our event sponsors: Mere Supplies and Nine Hundred Communications, who both provided equipment and support during the competition.
