CISRS Scaffold Awareness Training
The CISRS Scaffold Awareness course provides delegates with a practical understanding of scaffolding and its role in maintaining safety on construction and industrial sites. Covering scaffold terminology, legal responsibilities, inspection requirements and common hazards, the course helps delegates recognise safe and unsafe scaffold structures and understand the importance of working in accordance with current industry standards and best practice.
• Introduction to Scaffolding
An overview of the purpose of scaffolding, the different types of scaffold structures and their applications within construction and industrial environments.
• Scaffold Components and Terminology
Understanding the key components used in scaffold construction, including standards, ledgers, transoms, boards, ties and access arrangements.
• Legislation and Industry Standards
Reviewing the legal requirements relating to scaffolding and working at height, along with the roles and responsibilities of those involved in scaffold use and management.
• Types of Scaffold Structures
Learning about the different scaffold configurations commonly encountered on site and their intended uses.
• Scaffold Safety Features
Understanding the importance of guardrails, toe boards, access points, bracing, ties and other safety features designed to protect those working at height.
• Recognising Scaffold Hazards
Identifying common scaffold defects, unsafe conditions and potential hazards that can increase the risk of accidents and falls.
• Scaffold Inspection Awareness
Understanding the purpose of scaffold inspections, inspection records and the importance of ensuring scaffolds remain safe for use.
• Working Safely Around Scaffolding
Learning how to access scaffolds safely, report defects and follow site procedures when working on or around scaffold structures.
• Scaffold Tags and Handover Procedures
Understanding scaffold tagging systems, handover processes and how to verify whether a scaffold is safe to use.
• Assessment
Delegates complete an assessment to confirm their understanding of scaffold safety principles and the key topics covered during the course.

It is suitable for individuals who require a greater understanding of scaffold safety and their responsibilities when working in environments where scaffolding is present.
