CITB Site Safety Plus Training
The CITB Site Safety Plus course provides delegates with the knowledge and understanding required to improve health and safety performance within the construction industry. Designed to promote safer working practices and greater awareness of workplace risks, the programme helps delegates understand their responsibilities and contribute to creating and maintaining a safe, compliant and productive working environment.
• Introduction to Construction Health and Safety
An overview of the importance of health and safety within the construction industry and the role individuals play in preventing accidents and incidents on site.
• Health and Safety Legislation
Understanding the key legal requirements that apply to construction activities, including the responsibilities of employers, employees and contractors.
• Risk Assessment and Control Measures
Learning how workplace hazards are identified, assessed and controlled to reduce risks and protect the health, safety and welfare of those on site.
• Safe Working Practices
Exploring the procedures and behaviours required to carry out construction activities safely and in accordance with industry best practice.
• Working at Height
Understanding the risks associated with working at height and the measures used to prevent falls and protect workers.
• Manual Handling
Learning safe manual handling techniques and understanding how poor handling practices can result in workplace injuries.
• Site Hazards and Hazard Awareness
Recognising common construction site hazards and understanding the control measures required to reduce the likelihood of accidents.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Understanding the selection, use and maintenance of personal protective equipment and its role in supporting workplace safety.
• Fire Prevention and Emergency Procedures
Learning about fire hazards, emergency arrangements and the actions required in the event of an incident.
• Occupational Health and Wellbeing
Exploring common health issues within construction, including noise, vibration, dust and other workplace hazards that may affect long-term health.
• Environmental Awareness
Understanding the environmental impact of construction activities and the responsibilities of workers in helping to protect the environment.
• Assessment
Delegates complete the required assessment to demonstrate their understanding of the course content and key health and safety principles.
