EUSR Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) Water Training
The EUSR Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) Water course provides delegates with the essential health, safety and environmental knowledge required to work safely within the water industry. Combining core workplace health and safety awareness with water industry-specific requirements, the course helps delegates understand their responsibilities, recognise workplace hazards and apply safe working practices when working on water treatment facilities, water networks and associated infrastructure. Successful completion provides an industry-recognised EUSR registration and demonstrates an appropriate level of safety awareness for access to operational water industry sites.

• Understanding Workplace Responsibilities
Learning about the responsibilities of employers, employees and contractors in creating and maintaining safe and healthy working environments.
• Environmental Awareness
Understanding how workplace activities can impact the environment and the measures required to minimise pollution, protect water resources and support sustainable operations.
• Risk Assessment and Hazard Control
Learning how hazards are identified, risks assessed and suitable control measures implemented to reduce workplace risks.
• Common Workplace Hazards
Understanding the hazards commonly encountered within utility and infrastructure environments and the practical measures used to control them.
• Occupational Health Hazards
Exploring workplace health risks including noise, vibration, hazardous substances, manual handling and wellbeing considerations.
• Emergency Procedures and Incident Response
Understanding how to respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Water Industry Operations
Learning about the water industry's operational environment, including water treatment, distribution, wastewater processes and associated infrastructure.
• Working Safely on Water Industry Sites
Understanding site-specific hazards and the controls required when working in treatment works, pumping stations, reservoirs and network environments.
• Confined Space and Biological Hazard Awareness
Exploring common hazards associated with water and wastewater operations, including confined spaces, harmful microorganisms and contaminated environments.
• Safe Systems of Work
Understanding permits to work, risk assessments, method statements and other procedures used to safely manage high-risk activities.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Learning about the selection, use, maintenance and limitations of PPE used within the water industry.
• Protecting the Public and Water Quality
Understanding the importance of maintaining water quality, safeguarding public health and following hygiene and contamination prevention procedures.
• Behavioural Safety and Safety Culture
Understanding how personal attitudes and behaviours contribute to a positive safety culture and help prevent incidents.
• Assessment
Delegates complete the EUSR assessment to demonstrate their understanding of the SHEA Water modules and the safe working practices required within the water industry.
