This EVAC Chair Train the Trainer course is designed to equip delegates with the knowledge, skills and confidence to tecah others how to operate evacuation chairs safely and effectively during an emergency.
- Role of the Trainer
Learn how to deliver clear instruction, assess competence, and support safe learning environments. -
EVAC Chair Operation
Develop advanced knowledge of chair setup, manoeuvring, stair descent, and safe handling techniques. -
Risk Assessment
Review common hazards and learn how to guide others in identifying and managing risks. -
Teaching Best Practice
Build effective methods for demonstrating techniques, correcting errors, and reinforcing safe behaviours. -
Communication Skills
Use clear instruction and supportive communication to guide learners and reassure evacuees. -
Practical Coaching Session
Deliver supervised hands on practice and learn how to evaluate delegate performance. - Assessment and Certification
Complete trainer level assessments and understand how to certify future operators.

This course is designed for professionals who will train others in safe evacuation chair use, such as:
- Workplace fire marshals
- Health and safety trainers
- Facilities and building management
- Emergency response instructors
- Training staff supporting mobility impaired individuals
- Previous EVAC Chair Operating
Delegates should already be competent in basic chair operation before progressing to trainer level. -
Basic Physical Ability
Delegates must be able to support and control the chair during demonstrations and coaching sessions. - Suitable Clothing for Practical Work
Delegates should wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear for practical coaching activities.
