This course covers how to identify eye hazards, select and fit the correct eye protection for the task, assess and control risk, and respond correctly if an eye injury occurs. Completed entirely online, it is suitable for anyone working in environments where eye hazards are present.

The common causes of workplace eye injuries including flying particles, chemical splashes, radiation and dust, as well as the working environments and tasks where the risk is highest.

How to identify the correct type of eye protection for different hazards and tasks, how to fit it correctly and what maintenance and storage is required to keep it effective.
• Risk assessment and control measures
How to assess eye injury risks in the workplace, apply the hierarchy of controls and promote safe working practices that reduce reliance on PPE as the primary line of defence.
• First aid and incident response
The immediate steps to take if an eye injury occurs, including first aid procedures for different types of injury, when to seek medical assistance and how to report the incident correctly.
