First Aid at Work (FAW) Refresher
First aid skills deteriorate without regular reinforcement and in an emergency, the difference between confident and hesitant action can be significant. This IIRSM-approved, CPD-accredited refresher course covers primary and secondary casualty assessment, CPR and AED use, treatment of burns, wounds and shock, and how to respond to medical emergencies including heart attacks, strokes, asthma attacks, epileptic seizures, anaphylaxis, diabetic emergencies and poisoning. Completed entirely online, it is designed to complement practical first aid training rather than replace it.
• The primary survey

• The secondary survey
How to carry out a systematic head-to-toe assessment of a conscious casualty to identify injuries or conditions that were not apparent in the primary survey, and how to record and communicate findings.
• First aid treatment
How to treat a range of injuries and medical emergencies, including CPR and AED use, managing burns, wounds and shock, and responding to heart attacks, strokes, asthma attacks, epileptic seizures, anaphylaxis, diabetic emergencies and poisoning.
