
PASMA Working at Height
This PASMA Working at Height course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely assemble, dismantle, move and use mobile access towers. The course follows PASMA guidance and focuses on safe working at height, hazard awareness and compliance with legislation.
The aim of this course is to enable learners to safely and competently work at height using mobile access towers, in accordance with PASMA standards, current legislation and best practice, reducing the risk of falls and accidents.
- Health and Safety Legislation and Responsibilities
Learn the key legal requirements, including the Work at Height Regulations, and understand duties of employers and employees. -
Introduction to Mobile Access Towers
Understand different tower types, components and configurations used for working at height. -
Hazards Associated with Working at Height
Identify risks such as falls, unstable ground and incorrect assembly, and understand how these hazards can be controlled. -
Pre-Use Inspection and Equipment Checks
Learn how to inspect tower components and ensure equipment is safe before use. -
Safe Assembly and Dismantling of Towers
Understand the correct procedures for erecting and dismantling towers using recognised safe methods (e.g. 3T or AGR). -
Safe Use and Movement of Towers
Learn how to safely use towers once erected and how to reposition them without risk. - Stability, Ground Conditions and Load Considerations
Understand how surface conditions, load limits and environmental factors affect tower safety. -
Use of Guardrails and Fall Protection Measures
Learn how guardrails and collective protection systems prevent falls. -
Inspection and Handover Procedures
Understand how to carry out tower inspections and complete handover checks before use. -
Practical Assembly and Use Exercises
Carry out supervised practical tasks to assemble, dismantle and safely use a mobile access tower. -
Theory Assessment
Complete a PASMA multiple-choice assessment to confirm knowledge of safe working practices. -
Practical Assessment
Demonstrate competence in safely assembling, using and dismantling a mobile access tower.
