• Basics of radio frequency energy
What RF energy is, how it is generated and the fundamental principles of non-ionising radiation.

• Non-ionising radiation and exposure principles
How non-ionising RF radiation interacts with the human body and the difference between ionising and non-ionising radiation.

• Health effects of RF exposure
The potential biological effects of RF exposure and how exposure levels relate to risk.

• RF hazard areas and signage
How RF hazard zones are defined, identified and communicated using safety signage and site controls.

• Procedures following suspected exposure
The actions to take if RF exposure is suspected, including reporting and escalation procedures.

• RF monitoring and instrumentation
How RF detection instruments are used, including basic operation and interpretation of readings and scaling.

• Assessment
Theory-based assessment completed at the end of the course.

Classroom- and online-based instruction focused on developing an understanding of radio frequency safety and control measures in operational environments. Training enables you to recognise RF hazards and apply appropriate safety procedures when working near RF emitting equipment.

Workers required to access areas near RF-emitting equipment on buildings, structures or masts.
