Arco achieves EcoVadis Platinum rating, placing us in global top 1%

Arco has achieved EcoVadis Platinum status, placing us among the top 1% of organisations assessed worldwide for sustainability performance.

Arco has reached the highest level of EcoVadis recognition for the first time, achieving a Platinum rating and placing us in the top 1% of organisations assessed worldwide for sustainability performance.

The achievement represents a significant step forward from our Gold rating in 2025. Having set ourselves the target of reaching Platinum in 2026, sustained effort across the business has helped us achieve that ambition.

EcoVadis is a globally recognised provider of sustainability ratings, assessing how effectively organisations integrate responsible practices into their operations and supply chains. Our latest result puts Arco among the highest-performing organisations assessed by EcoVadis worldwide.

For customers using Arco Professional Safety Services, this recognition provides independent evidence of our ongoing commitment to responsible business practices, while demonstrating how we are addressing environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations across our organisation.

What does the EcoVadis assessment cover?

EcoVadis assesses organisations across four key areas:

  • Environment
  • Labour & Human Rights
  • Ethics
  • Sustainable Procurement

Achieving Platinum requires organisations to demonstrate effective policies, actions and measurable results. It recognises businesses where sustainability is integrated into everyday operations, governance and supply chain management.

For Arco Professional Safety Services, this supports our commitment to delivering responsible safety solutions while helping customers meet their own sustainability and procurement objectives.

Progress across our sustainability programme

Our latest EcoVadis assessment saw Arco's overall score increase by 10%. We achieved a near-perfect score for Environment, while our Labour & Human Rights score increased by 23%.

Progress in these areas included:

  • Improved colleague benefits, including the introduction of a health cash plan
  • Greater opportunities for colleague engagement and consultation
  • Continued action based on feedback and the issues that matter most to our people

We have also strengthened our approach to Sustainable Procurement, increasing engagement with suppliers and improving visibility across our supply chain. Areas of focus include:

  • Responsible sourcing of raw materials
  • Managing risks associated with conflict minerals
  • Deforestation

Greater supply chain transparency is particularly important for organisations operating in sectors such as construction and the public sector, where responsible procurement is increasingly important.

Our approach to governance was also recognised, including controls relating to:

  • Data stewardship and cyber security
  • Anti-bribery
  • Whistleblowing

Continuing our sustainability journey

Jim Harbidge, Head of Sustainability at Arco, said: “Achieving EcoVadis Platinum is an important milestone and a strong, independent endorsement of the progress we’re making. We’ll continue to focus on meaningful action, transparency and long-term impact for our customers, our colleagues and the wider communities we serve.”

EcoVadis Platinum is an important achievement, but it is also part of a longer-term commitment to improving the way we operate.

Through Arco Professional Safety Services, we help organisations manage workplace safety through specialist consultancy, training, equipment and managed services. Alongside this, we continue to look for ways to operate more responsibly and support customers in achieving their own environmental and sustainability goals.
