Rigging of Light Lifting Equipment

Course Aim

This course will provide delegates with the knowledge and practical experience to lift materials by hand and mechanical means.

Course Content

• Legislation when working at
  height
• Rigging & lifting legislation
• Inspection of lifting equipment
• Ropes & knots
• Rigging for Steelwork
• Manual & powered lifts
• Rigging & removal of Dishes
  (up to 1.2m dish)
• Rigging & removal of Antennae
  & associated equipment
• Capstan Winch—rigging and
  use of

The course will involve elements of classroom and practical tuition. Emphasis will, at all times, be on practical rescues under the safe supervision of an instructor. Delegates will be continually assessed throughout the course.

Aimed At

Persons who are required to install steelwork and telecommunication equipment on towers & masts.

Additional Information

Delegates must hold an in date MATS Climbing & Rescue certificate or Advanced Climber certificate to attend the course.
