FATALITY: CARPENTER FELL THROUGH CEILING

Workman dies in hospital one month after fall

It has been reported by the Brighton Argus that a carpenter has died in hospital after falling some 20ft on a Brighton building site over a month ago.

Dave Clarke, 55, was working at a stable block next to Stanmer House on September 30 when he was believed to have fallen through a ceiling.

Emergency services helped to air lift him to hospital where he had remained in a critical condition.

On 28th October Sussex Police confirmed that a 55-year-old man had died but could not give any more details.

The Argus states that Mr Clarke, from Hove, was contracted by Hove-based Cherrywood Investments, which is converting the building.

The police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said they were investigating the accident.
