Two men arrested over site fall death

TWO men have been arrested over the death of a 66-year-old Waterlooville man.

Lindsay Campbell died when he fell around 30 ft from the bucket of an excavator while working at South Coast Skips, in Ford, West Sussex.

The two men, aged 62 and 26, both from Hampshire, have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence.

They have been released on police bail until December 6

On September 7, a 47-year-old Birdham man and a 50-year-old Bognor man were also arrested but were subsequently released on police bail until November 8.

The investigation is being carried out by detectives from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team with the support of the Health and Safety Executive, and police reports are being submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Mr Campbell was born and raised in New Zealand but spent most of his life living in UK.
