Difficult rescue at height after fall from ladder
 

Fire crews performed a tricky rescue by extendable ladder to reach a worker on Monday morning who has fallen from a ladder at 2nd floor level on a newbuild structure on the Bunting site in Nortmoor from where he was later transferred to hospital in Groningen, north Holland.

Alsace demolition workers killed in fall
 

Two workers aged 26 and 49 of an Alsatian demolition company died in a 10-metre fall during work at the ArcelorMittal works in Gandrange. They were on a raised work platform cutting steel beams when a section of roof collapsed.

Worker dies after fall in Simplon tunnel

A 56-year old Italian worker died yesterday in hospital in Sion from severe internal injuries after a fall at a work site in the Simplon rail tunnel. He was on a bogey being pushed by an engine when the bogey suddenly derailed and he fell heavily on to the rails.

Worker falls down 23m hole at rail site

The health and safety inspectorate of the Ministry of Manpower has issued a stop work order at the Tuas west rail extension site being operated by constructor China Railway 11 Bureau Group Corporation following a fatal accident in which a worker died in a fall down a 23-metre deep bore hole. A rebar cage was being lowered by chain when it became loose and dragged the worker into the 1.5-metre wide hole.

A 55-year old construction worker died of multiple injuries yesterday in San Juan Batista Hospital after falling from scaffolding at 2nd floor level on a housing site in Parque Norte, Catamarca.

Solar panel installer injured in fall through roof –

A French subcontract worker has been badly injured in a 7-metre fall through a roof light during the installation of solar panels on an agricultural building on rue du Milieu in Petit-Hallet, Liege. The accident is being investigated by the Huy work inspector, the worker is not in a life-threatening condition.

A 20-year old worker has died in the Royal Hobart Hospital from injuries sustained yesterday in a fall through the roof at the Devonport Homemaker Centre construction site. Although he was wearing a safety harness it was unattached to a safety line.
