Rail site worker crushed in crane boom accident
A construction worker has died in an accident at a Metro Rail site in Chennai where a 25-tonne reinforcement cage which was about to be positioned fell from a height of 22 metres when the crane boom failed and the victim was dragged down into an excavation. A number of other workers were also injured.
Worker dies in fall in milk tank
A 60-year old contract worker of a metal construction company has died in a 20-metre fall in a milk tank at a dairy products premises in Cham. He had entered the tank and descended a ladder to a platform which failed to bear his weight.

Miner's body recovered after fall down shaft
The body of a 29-year old Silesian miner has been recovered after he fell down a shaft while working 460 metres underground at a coal mine of PG Silesia in Czechowice-Dziedzice. He was on a conveyor belt system when he fell down the 25-metre deep shaft.
Seven miners have died in Silesian mines during the last 5 weeks, with 16 miners having now died nationally this year.
