Workman dies in MEWP incident on marine construction project

It has been reported by the Western Telegraph that a construction worker has died after falling 30ft at the Mustang Marine site in Pembroke Dock on Tuesday 4th June.

Stephen John Greenaway suffered serious injuries after “falling from machinery”. The 50 year-old workman was flown to Heath Hospital in Cardiff by air ambulance but later died. Construction Newsreport that an HSE spokesman has confirmed that Mr Greenaway “fell from a cherry picker on the site”.

Mustang Marine managing director Kevin Lewis said it was with “deep sadness” that the marine construction company received the tragic news from Dyfed-Powys Police. He said:

“This has been the most tragic of incidents we could imagine. We are a very close community at Pembroke Dock and the Port of Milford Haven as a whole, and this incident has been felt by us all. Our deepest sympathy goes to the family and friends of the gentleman who passed away, together with my colleagues we are all saddened by the news of his death.”

Mustang Marine and the Port of Milford Haven are working with police and the HSE who are investigating the death.
